PRAYER: A - Adoration (prayer of centering; focus on God's goodness)

C - Confession (prayer of repentance and asking for God's forgiveness)

T - Thanksgiving (prayer of gratefulness, content, joy, avoiding pessimism)

S - Supplication (prayer for others; then pray for yourself)

S - STOP and listen... give God some time to speak to you --- end with the LORD'S PRAYER

I. Your Identity Shapes EVERYTHING about Your Quality-Health of Life

- Lk 6:43-45, "Good comes from the "inner self" (not I.D.O.L.S.)

- You are a Fruit Tree: "Fruit Comes from the Root" - Root = Ultimate Concerns

- Col 1:27, "The secret is Christ IN you." and YOU being in Christ (Eph 1:1-14)

a. Key = Rid heart's altar (root) of Idols; Fill heart's altar (root) with Christ

II. Eph. 1:1-2, "to all the saints who are in Christ"

- Study of Identity begins with those things that define you (Ultimate Concerns)

- 2 Cor 5:17, "If you are in Christ, you are a new creation" (new identity); if not?

a. Old Self (Ruth, the "addict") - defined by her S. (sufferings) /I.D.O.L.S.

b. New Self (Ruth, the "child of God") - defined by Christ's sufferings + love

III. SAINT of SINNER? You are who you are not because of what you do/think, but because of what Jesus has done and thinks of you

- "Traditional" Saint - based off what you/they have done (and still sinners like us)

- Biblical Saint - based of what Jesus has done for you

a. NOT defined by your works, good or bad, rather GRACE + the CROSS

b. We are Redeemed Sinners: You did it, but Christ paid for it

You did it - 1 John 1:8, "If you say you are without sin, you lie"

Christ Paid for it - John 19:30, "It is finished!" (so stop bringing it up)

- yes, learn from it, create boundaries, don't do it again

- no, don't dwell on it, for that is idolatry (S. - sufferings)

IV. It is finished - Already, Not Yet Principle

- Mt 4:17, "The Kingdom of God is Here" - here now, but fully "at the doorstep"

- Phil 4:4-7, "The Lord is Near" - near now, but fully "at the doorstep"

- You ARE a saint; but you will fully become a saint "at the doorstep"

- Regarding Sin?

a. Remorseful, but not Condemned (never consumed by it)

- Rom 8:1, "There is no condemnation in Christ Jesus"

b. Weak and Tempted, but never Overcome

- Heb 4:15-16, "Draw near to Christ; He will help you in times of need"

V. Why "being a saint" matters?

- In overcoming sin: "You are strongest when you focus on your center, rather than your boundaries"

- In Discovering Abundance: "You are strongest when you focus on your center, rather than your boundaries"
