WHAT WE BELIEVE

First and foremost, we believe Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth and the Life. Jesus is Bread of Life, Living Water, and the Light of the World for all humanity; it is when we remain daily connected to Jesus, our Vine, that we (branches) will experience the abundance that can only come when our hearts are in communion with God through Christ in the Holy Spirit.

In this, we believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth; And in Jesus Christ his only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; the third day He rose from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from there He shall come to judge the living and the dead.

We believe in the Holy Spirit; the holy Christian church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting.

At LifePoint, we also take a more Wesleyan approach, believing the Bible is the inspired Word of God as our ultimate authority for truth in all matters of belief and behavior, while reason, tradition, and experience inform how we discern God's truth for our lives today. We like to say, "Use Your Bible. Use Your Brain," as it is our belief that God gave us brains to use, and God expects us to use them when it comes to answering questions people have about Jesus Christ, to developing a faith that is balanced and makes sense, and to discovering what it means to experience the healing and abundance Jesus offers everyone as we journey more deeply into faithful discipleship in everyday life.

As far as denominations go, LifePoint is an independent church with no denominational affiliation. We simply welcome anyone who is seeking to grow in their faith, better understand biblical Christianity, and deepen their walk with Jesus Christ, no matter who you are or where you are on your journey of faith.  Dr. Childs, our senior pastor, has no denominational affiliation today, even though he has great respect for many other denominations, as he has degrees from and was ordained by the Methodist Church, he has degrees from and was ordained by the Baptist Church, and he has a degree from Loyola, a Catholic university. The point being: regardless if you have a denominational background or not, you are welcome in this place.
